Update - October 2005

It is already the first of November, where has the time gone. It has been awhile since we have updated Perry's goings on.

It has been a pretty tough year. Perry started the summer off with another pancrease attack and had a week long hospital stay. We are praying that there are no more problems with this or they will have to do some extensive testing to make sure it is not diseased. As we have told you before he doesn't have a very good internal thermometer. So extreme heat or cold his body cannot bring itself back to where it should be. So this very very hot summer we have had has kept him stuck in the house almost all summer. This is usually the time of the year he enjoys the most outside. Sitting on the porch working on his computer. It was just to hot. We are praying we are able to get a deck built on the back of the house where it is shaded sometime in the future so he can be outside more.

He did receive therapy after his hospital stay to get his strength back. Then all he qualified for was speech. He just has hit the point in his therapy where the only thing left to do is walk by himself. Since he has very little balance because of the stroke area unless the Lord sees otherwise he will just walk with help for exercise. We owe a big thank you to Brad Profitt for stopping by to help him walk.  He also still has his bike his buddies from AEP bought for him to use.

Speech over the past few months has been great. After four and half years he is still getting sounds back. He is working on phrases now instead of just sounds. He still has trouble with the s and the e but finally got the k and g sound down. His blends like th and ch are doing so much better. Of course he only talks for the speech girls and me at home. He gets to worked up to talk in front of others. He did tell Bekah "you are my sunshine" that is their special song. Of course she cried and then told him she was mad at him for not talking more at home. So he is trying to talk more around Drew and Bekah when they make it home.

Drew is living in Indiana now working at the Frankfort Country Club as an assistant golf pro. He played in the Indiana Pro's and Asst. Pro's tournament this summer and won. We were very proud of him, Perry was beaming from ear to ear. You can check the article out by going to www.IndianaGolf.org then click on Indiana PGA. He is the second from the right.

Bekah is back at Western in Bowling Green. She really loves it down there especially the church Hillvue Heights. She loves being close to Tim and Greta and babysitting Abby and Gracie whenever she can. She has made some very close friends and now realizes this is the college God had intended for her all along.

Bo is doing great, growing all the time. He may be spoiled a little but knows when he has his working vest on it is time to work. He turned a year old on Nov. 9. He will continue with more training in the spring.

Not much going on for now but will be sure to update you when something big happens. So keep Perry in your prayers, who knows what God has in store this coming year
